Saor Patrol (pronounced "shore patrol", Scottish Gaelic: Freedom Guard)[1] is a Scottish folk-band from Kincardine in Scotland.

The band plays mainly its own songs. All songs are instrumental and played with Great Highland Bagpipe, drums and electric guitar. All band members are volunteers of The Clanranald Trust for Scotland,[2] a non profit recognized organization in Scotland. The objective of the trust is the preservation and dissemination of Scottish culture and Scottish heritage through entertainment and education. For this purpose, a replica of a medieval Scottish fortified village named Duncarron is under construction. The proceeds from Saor Patrol flow into the project.[3]

Charlie Allan had the idea for the band during the filming of Gladiator in 1999.[4] After having taught himself to play the pipes, he sought musicians which he found in the ranks of the Clanranald Trust for Scotland.[5] The band will perform in United Kingdom, United States, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Africa, Australia.[6][7][8][9][10][11]
